(it is a great quote)

This film offers a vivid peak into the American society in the 1920s and brings the audiences into a tragady of the American dream.
Fitzgerald, the author, described justice, power, greed, betrayal and so forth in this story.
(it seems like he is a depressed young man.)

He also created three kinds of people to represent the social hierarchy.
Tom, Daisy, and Jordan, who naturally belong to elitist group, portray the “old money”.
Bearing with silver spoons, they have the privilege to spread power and money.

Jay Gatsby, who earns properties by himself, presents the “new money”.
( the green light which represents the American dream is radiated from Daisy and Tom's villa. )

The “old money” never likes the "new money" due to the fact that they apparently have no possibility to become similar.
That is, the values, behaviors, attitudes, and perspectives are as dissimilar as light and darkness.

However, Jay still endeavors to fascinate Daisy since they had once promised to marry to each other.
The third kind is the “no money”, such as Nick, the narrator, bystander, and the bridge between Jay and Daisy.
Although he grew up in a prominent family which actually made their money only two generations ago and loves calling themselves "Dukes of Buccleuch," Nick's parants, in the matter of fact, do not inherit myriads of fortune.
That also explains why Nick have to find a work in NewYork and live in a small cabin.

While Jay became wealthy by illegal alcohol trades, he still is the naivest boy throughout the entire story.
His aspires and behaviors are only germane to his dream lover, Daisy.
What he wants to accomplish is to marry Daisy, and make her fulfilled.
Nevertheless, the girl he dreamed is only a phantom that consists of the illusion of the American dream, the green light.
Indeed, Daisy is warm, thrilling, and intoxicating.
As we take a look insight, she’s a woman of vicious emptiness and her voice is full of money.
In the end, after he thought he finally got the chance leaving with Daisy, Jay was framed by Tom and killed by Wilson, whose wife was crashed and then died while Daisy was driving.
How about Daisy and Tom? Well, the only thing they do is to spend some money for hiding the truth and eluding to another villa.
